Nuance

~ the subtle difference in vineyards, vintages, and blends. A wine transcends the sum of its elements through the art of winemaking. From bold to delicate, and all the shades in between, we hope you enjoy the Nuance.

A Quick Note from Nuance

Exciting news! Our first Chardonnay has been bottled and will be ready to be enjoyed in February, 2012. We will deliver early February. This 2010 Chardonnay is smooth and creamy, with excellent fruit, balanced acidity, and a slight floral note in the nose. The grapes are from the Split Rock Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast.

We’ve recently released our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes came from Rafael Vineyard in the Carneros region of the Napa Valley. The wine has great fruit intensity, ripe tannins, and balanced acidity. It has a complex nose of blackberry and black currant, with an earthy influence as well as clove and black pepper notes that add complexity. As with our previous vintages, this wine will not only be approachable at release, but also very good several years from now.

Our 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon has sold out. Fans of this vintage, with grapes from the River Run in St. Helena, will be happy to know that we’ll release our next River Run vintage, a 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, in late 2012.

In addition to the Chardonnay release, we have some other “firsts” to look forward to in 2012. Late in the year, we plan to release our first Zinfandel, from the 2011 harvest from the old vines at Teldeschi Vineyard. Can’t wait for this one!

Around the same time, we plan to release our first cabernet with grapes from the Broken Rock Vineyard near Soda Canyon. We’ve done periodic barrel tastings and this 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is one we’re very excited about.
